Let’s be real. As much as you love your time at our gyms in Corpus Christi – as into fitness as you may be – there are days when your routine just seems, well, tedious. Maybe even boring.
Or perhaps you’ve hit a plateau and just feel stuck.
Don’t give up! When going to the gym feels more like a chore than it should, it may be time to revamp your routine. How do you keep your gym time fun and fresh? We have a few ideas for you!
Mix It Up
Whatever your favorite workout style, switch things up a little! If you’re used to working out alone, think about joining a group fitness class like Zumba, where you’ll salsa and cha-cha to international rhythms. Our SPID and Saratoga gym locations offer fun group class options daily, so be sure to check their schedules!
Yoga is another option, great instructor-led classes that keep muscles limber in a calming, mind-refreshing environment.
Small group training, like boot camp, is another way to bump up your routine. Boot camp instructors put you through your paces with intensive full-body cardiovascular and strength training exercise.
Set New Goals
What was your initial reason for gym membership? Being healthy and fit is a great plan, but drilling down to specific goals and objectives can be more motivating. That feeling of achievement does wonders for a sagging spirit!
If your workout has become a struggle, think about reworking your goals. If you’re new to the gym, start with goals you’ll be able to accomplish, nothing too lofty at first. A gym veteran? Add intensity and duration, or combine cardio and strength tasks into a full-body circuit.
Partner Up
Working out with a buddy keeps you accountable, adds a touch of fun, and means support on those days when you just don’t feel like going to the gym. Whether in a group class or lifting <free weights, your workout partner is an automatic system for accountability and motivation.
But don’t stop there; after your workout, treat yourself to a refreshing beverage at our Smoothie King!
Seriously, keep it fun and keep it fresh. Ask the staff at our Corpus Christi gyms for ideas!
